It is often said that content is king. There has been a lot of questionable material being offered to people and I am offering you a way to avoid the whole mess.
This article is contrary to popular advice concerning blog marketing, but it is also correct. I cannot tell you which sites these were, since they aren’t mine to divulge. But I will tell you why, based on facts that I have learned, one way links are more important than site content.
Recently I found this to be true because of the new client I started working for who couldn’t get to the first page of Google.
As with any new client I take a look at what they’re already doing and I was appalled they even were able to get the rankings they currently had. All of the content was extremely poorly written as if someone with no or very limited English speaking and writing skills had attempted to write the article. I think the source is a content spinner. They are not neatly written variations of sentences but a product of crap article spinning software.
To highlight just how bad the previous SEO guy had done, he put these crappy pages up in some very competitive keyword markets somehow expecting them to rank highly. It was clear to me with only a moments glance there was no hope of that ever happening.
My kindergartner could do this with the free article spinner we downloaded in a couple minutes from download com.
This site was such a mess, with problems ranging from the absence of a site map to faulty internal links, that I don’t even know where to begin.
What is the result then? If content was king, these pages cannot be on the first page of ANY search engine. Why speak of Google? After doing my research, what were the results?
Each of these websites had tons of one way links leading to them, though they were often spam like links from untrustworthy websites. Next I examined the sites which were on later pages of Google, and I discovered that even though the non-English content was the same, there weren’t any links. So then I decided to take a look at the pages they couldn’t get ranked and see what the problem was…it turned out to be too few incoming backlinks.
So I just copied the links from the other pages and in two weeks I was a hero in my clients eyes, due to the fact that they are now on the first page of Google for all the sites they hired my for initially.
My primary aim is to make them understand that they can get fast results. I will now get them quality links from power and authority domains. Their sites will stay in their first page rankings.
