If you put an amount that is way to high as your plan, you can get burned out or depressed quickly. So get a medium amount that is possible to do and will be enough to help with the bills.

The bad thing about a lot of the freelance sites is that you have to bid to get a project. You will not be able to get it immediately, but have to wait around. Plus at times you may feel you are working for nothing and doing way too much work. However, if you look into a writing service you should have a better chance.

Not that writing is the only way to work and make money online. Because there are many other ways besides that. If you know anything about web design you may be working quite often too. Helping people to build web sites could be a dream of yours and something you are good at.

Make sure that you keep a portfolio of your work to share with potential clients. Seeing past work and even being able to talk to old clients will earn you a lot of business. That is as long as you have done a good job on that past work.

You may find that at first you will need to work a bit harder to reach those estimates that you hope to make. But really if you love what you are doing that should be no problem. You do at times need to make sure you will not become burned out.

When that happens you will find that sitting down to work will be a lot tougher. Your weekly earnings will go down quite low and bills will be a bit tougher to pay. But that can be discussed at a later time.
